Is this Now the End of Peace

Right wing nationalism is on the rise in so many nations,
and angry mobs march through the streets once more.
They shout out vitriolic, hateful slogans to everyone the meet,
just like they have done so many times before.
In the pulpits, the priests and the preachers pray for peace,
but the extremists are trying to make their case for war.

All the pruning hooks and ploughshares are beaten into swords
by sweating blacksmiths for all the bitter warlords,
and we are told not to trust our neighbors or our friends,
just because they have a different color skin.
In the pulpits, the pastors and the preachers beg for peace,
but the politicians are telling us to get ready for another war.

The factories of nearly every nation,
no longer make toys for little girls and boys.
Instead they make bullets and bombs for killing.
Someone needs to put a stop to all this madness,
unfortunately, it seems that no one is willing.
In the pulpits, the priests and the preachers plead for peace,
but on the street corners, the mobs are shouting out for war.

It is always so very easy to make a war begin,
but there is too much pain and dying before they ever end,
and if it ever comes to another world war, neither side will win,
so put away your guns before you have to shoot them.
Take all the bullets and the bombs, and turn them into signs of peace.
In the pulpits, the priests, the preachers and the prophets ask for peace,
ask that just for once cooler heads will prevail.
In the churches, in the mosques, and in all the synagogues,
the people are on their knees, crying out for peace,
but the soldiers are already marching off to war.

  • Keeper of the Sword

It is often a simple thing, the roll of the dice, the turn of a card, or a chance meeting that can change one’s life forever. For Josh Campbell, and Morgan Connelly it was a seemingly harmless chain of events, a fight after school and performing a ritual that neither one of them believed in.

Full of fear and excitement Keeper of the Sword (The Sword of Kings) Josh notched an arrow to the bow string, pulled it back to his ear, took careful aim and released the shaft of death, and before it reached its target, a second bolt sliced through the dark.
