Too Many Days Have Gone By

As you sit in the bar room
trying to peer through the fog
of far away too many beers
try to understand
it’s much too late
to find someone to blame,
for why you ended up here
and even if you can put a finger
upon someone’s name
there is nothing you can change
no matter how hard you try
because too many days have gone by.

You were just another soldier
sent off to a nameless war,
told to do your duty
for your country and the cause
even if meant you had to die.
you went and did their bidding,
and murdered so many men
that looked very much like you.
Well it’s time for you to understand
there is nothing you can change
because too many years have gone by.

Don’t waste time counting the fortunes
that you have won and lost
along the road getting here.
Just stop your sad complaining
while you drink another beer,
and tell your self
that there’s no point for you to try
to make any changes
or do things in a different way
because too many days have gone by.

No need to think of your wife and children
that you left so long ago,
because they no longer miss you
or remember who you are,
and even if they did, they wouldn’t care,
so stop your useless whining
and have another glass of beer,
and as you tell the woman beside you one more lie,
just remember there is nothing you can change
no matter how hard you try,
because too many years have gone by.

  • Keeper of the Sword

It is often a simple thing, the roll of the dice, the turn of a card, or a chance meeting that can change one’s life forever. For Josh Campbell, and Morgan Connelly it was a seemingly harmless chain of events, a fight after school and performing a ritual that neither one of them believed in.

Full of fear and excitement Keeper of the Sword (The Sword of Kings) Josh notched an arrow to the bow string, pulled it back to his ear, took careful aim and released the shaft of death, and before it reached its target, a second bolt sliced through the dark.
